Fritz Burns Pool

The Fritz Burns Park Pool offers a variety of classes, programs, and special events for children and adults of all ages. Here are some of the pool programs:

- Recreation Swim opens June 10
- Fritz Burns Pool Summer Catalog
- Concessions - a selection of food and beverage items are available for sale at the pool office counter
- Movie Nights at the Pool - June 21: The Pirates; July 19: Finding Nemo; August 16: Dolphin Tale. Swimming and actitives begin at 7pm!

The Mysteriously Enchanting Salton Sea Exhibit
May 17 - September 21
An exhibit of the attraction inthe '50s and '60s for boating, water skiing, fishing, camping, hiking, and bird watching. Bing Crosby, Sonny Bono, the Beach Boys, Jerry Lewis, the MarxBrothers, and other celebrities flocked to the sea along with PresidentEisenhower who tried out the new Salton City golf course. View photographs andinterview excerpts of current Salton Sea residents and visitors from Christina Lange's new book Portraitsand Voices of the SaltonSea.
Life in La Quinta and Early California
Ongoing Exhibit
Become familiar with the local history of the Cahuilla Indians, native desert animals and the first resorts. Experience pioneer life in early California with artifacts, dioramas and hands on activities! Learn the language of Morse code and send messages back and forth with your friends using our working telegraph system housed in a mock telegraph office and railroad depot! Imagine the journey westward to California with our 25 foot covered wagon scene.

Family Movie Time @ Your Library
Come and enjoy free popcorn, a good action movie. The Library presents "Jack Reacher" starring Tome Cruise, Rosamund Pike, and Rochard Jenkins. It's a perfect movie to bring DAD to enjoy a Sunday afternoon!

Did you know...
You can use WebTrac to register for most programs, classes and excursions that the Community Services Department offers. WebTracis available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
Register Early...
Programs often cancel because the minimum enrollment requirements were not met. Waiting until the last minute to register is usually too late, so please register early.
Having an event?
We have facilities and parks available for private rentals. Meeting spaces include the La Quinta Museum and La Quinta Library. For larger social events and parties the La Quinta Senior Center, Civic Center Campus, La Quinta Park and Fritz Burns Park are available. Please call (760) 777-7090 for more information.
