Annual Christmas Tree Lighting |
The City of La Quinta invites you to ring in the holiday season with the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Celebrate the season with a special visit from Santa, festive music, live entertainment and new this year, a Race Car Train free for all to enjoy.

Nature Walks and Guided Hikes |
Provided by the Stewards of the Fred Wolff Nature Preserve. Join us each month for a unique look at our local environment with special guest leaders and topics.
Nature Walk:
Saturday, December 20 - Explore Boo Hoff's History and Trail - Bill Baker
Third Saturday of the month beginning at 8 AM. All walks are Easy and begin at the Shade Shelter on the Bear Creek Nature Trail at the corner of Calle Ensenada and Avenida Montezuma in the La Quinta Cove.
Nature Hike:
Sunday, December 7 - Boo Hoff Trail - Mark Johnson
This strenuous 7 mile hike will meet at the Top of Cove parking lot on Calle Tecate at 7am.
Guided Hikes around the Coachella Valley with Philip Ferranti:
Saturday, December 6 - Back of Cove Loop
Join us at 9 AM for a beautiful easy 5 mile hike. Meet at the Cove Oasis Parking Lot. All participants should dress appropriately and bring water.

YMCA Flag Football |
The City of La Quinta has partnered with the YMCA of the Desert and Friday Night Lights to offer more exciting flag football at Colonel Mitchell Paige Middle School.
Winter Season
Family YMCA of the Desert:
- 5 vs 5 Flag Football ages 6-14, $90
- Y-Rookies ages 3-5, $80
- Season: Fridays, January 23 - March 13, 2015
- Registration: November 3 - December 5, 2014
If you have a flag football team do not forget to join the YMCA's Flag Football Tournament on December 14 for $90 per team. Please call the Family YMCA of the Desert at (760) 341-9622 for more information or to register.
Spring Season
