Celebrate the City of La Quinta's 31st Birthday Party with your friends and family while enjoying this high energy event. Enjoy non-stop entertainment, great music, carnival games, bounce houses, activities for children, hot dogs, muffins, cold drinks, and plenty of giveaways. This will be an event you will not want to miss!

Children ages 5 to 8 will have the opportunity to swim, bike, and run in the park. Bring a swim suit, a bike in good working order, a helmet, running shoes, and a bunch of enthusiasm!
 
Pre-registration is now being accepted by the Family YMCA of the Desert in Palm Desert. The first 60 participants to pre-register will receive a commemorative youth-medium t-shirt at the event!

Provided by the Stewards of the Fred Wolff Nature Preserve. Join us each month for a unique look at our local environment with special guest leaders and special topics.

Coachella Valley Landforms, Earthquakes, and the San Andreas Fault  is the theme for the next walk meets at 8am at the Shade Shelter on the Bear Creek Nature Trail (Calle Ensenada and Avenida Montezuma) in the La Quinta Cove.
  
Guided Cove Hike
Saturday, April 13
Join our qualified volunteers on a hike through the Bear Creek Wash, easy to moderate hike. Saturday, meet at 9am from the Top of the Cove parking lot on Calle Tecate.

Emerald Gems: History of Golf in the Coachella Valley

The Coachella Valley is one of the world's best destinations for golfers. When the Robb Report named La Quinta "America's ultimate golfing destination," the City was thrust into the international spotlight bringing global recognition to the golfing mecca it has become.   
 
Life in La Quinta and Early California
Ongoing Exhibit

Become familiar with the local history of the Cahuilla Indians, native desert animals and the first resorts. Experience pioneer life in early California with artifacts, dioramas and hands on activities! Learn the language of Morse code and send messages back and forth with your friends using our working telegraph system housed in a mock telegraph office and railroad depot! Imagine the journey westward to California with our 25 foot covered wagon scene.

Dia De Los Libros
All ages are welcome to join us for a celebration honoring books, libraries, and reading for children. There will be balloons, crafts, music, food, and free books. Don't miss out!!! Special Guest at 11 am "Ballet Folklorico Sol de mi Tierra."

Did you know...

You can use WebTrac to register for most programs, classes and excursions that the Community Services Department offers. WebTrac is available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.  

Register Early... 
Programs often cancel because the minimum enrollment requirements were not met.  Waiting until the last minute to register is usually too late, so please register early.

Having an event? 
We have facilities and parks available for private rentals. Meeting spaces include the La Quinta Museum and La Quinta Library. For larger social events and parties the La Quinta Senior Center, Civic Center Campus, La Quinta Park and Fritz Burns Park are available. Please call (760) 777-7090 for more information.
